Taylor Hicks Teeing Off

Taylor Hicks will be teeing off at the beautiful Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Ross Bridge in Birmingham AL for the Region's Charity Classic being held May 14-18. This will be Taylor's second time participating in the event and is scheduled to play May 14th and 15th. He will be amongst an elite group of entertainers and sports celebrities who include Charles Barkley, Bo Jackson, Joe Namath, Phil Niekro, and Joe Theismann among others! Just seen this tonight, Not sure what happen or who is ill but Taylor will not be at the Regions.

American Idol winner Taylor Hicks will not play in this year's Regions Charity Classic Charter Communications Pro-am Tournament.

The Birmingham native tells FOX6 Sports Director Rick Karle that he is pulling out of the pro-am because of a family illness and a scheduling conflict.

Hicks was scheduled to tee off at Ross Bridge on Thursday morning.
