As an adult I've learned many lessons from children. Children have the innate ability to dream and to be positive. For the most part they have not been affected by the external issues of the world. When you ask a child what they want to be when they grow up, they don't pause to consult their finances, they don't look at the color of their skin, they're not plagued by insecurities. Without any hesitation they respond in total surety that they want to be an astronaut, a doctor, a dare devil, so on and so fourth. They simply believe.
I've learned that your life will follow your most predominate thoughts, if you think thoughts of failure, your life will most likely head in the direction of failure but if you remain single minded on accomplishing your dreams and heart's desires you will inevitably see them manifest in your life.
I believe the solution lies simply in this, protect your heart and mind from things that would poison your dreams, passions and desires. Don't let your past mistakes, failures, disappointments, or any other negative factor deter you from becoming who you always wanted to be. Take Martin Luther King Jr. as an example, he didn't bow down and give up when he came against great opposition regarding his dream. But in his eyes, what he saw was every opposition as another step towards accomplishing the dream. How you see your opposition is in direct alignment with your outcome whether good or bad. Notice how he guarded his mind and heart from all the negativity and in return it protected his perception of his ability to prevail. Your perception is your reality, and a child perceives that they can do all things.
Please, protect your child's heart by speaking positively over them, always encouraging them to dream and by always believing in them. The surest way to do this is by applying it and living it out in your own life. It's never too late.
