ok here is a question for you.
why didn't taylor cd out sold carry and daughtry cds??
i only hear two songs off daughtry cd and don't like either one.
and though i think carrie underwood is a good singer i am bored with her music. she is WAY over-played. Taylor cd on the either hand i can listen to over and over and never get bored or tired of it. So why is taylor hicks cd not doing better then what it is. if people listen to music with the volume up he would be the best selling artist of our times~!!!!

This is a question I cannot answer. I have often felt and thought the same way.

I don't think anyone can explain in away completely, Of course Chirs was big news on AI last season with his HOME being the boot off song, and with Simon's always insulting Taylor every chance he got not only in season 5 but season 6 as well and thinking Chris was "GOD" didn't help either. But we all know better and someday soon EVERYONE will know how Taylor Hicks is. I feel right now Chris is flying high but there is always a "Rock" star waitting in the wings ready to take that spot and it will happen, I think people are tired of hearing him everytime ya turn on a radio, same with Carrie, I don't think it'll be long before she's all done too, country music is domating and again always someone there to take that #! spot away..
Taylor is doing fine and al though Chris has him in Cd sales Taylor is way ahead of Chris in the live Concert area..
Of course this is just my opinion...

As I said in my pm to you, I can not give you 100% concreat proof but as reported by Wall Street Jornual in the first quarter Taylor had 1.9 million and has to be way above that now. Wouldn't you agree?? I have no idea how to get the up to date figures or I would. This is what was told to me by a very big Taylor fan that does know where to get such info...
I wish I could help in that area but it's a no go for me.
I do believe that it's true and the Chris fans I know do not dispute it so there has to be some truth to it. Good enough for me.

Hi! This is my take on the situation. While Taylor was a huge hit on Season 5 with the Soul Patrol I think the average people who viewed the show looked at him more for his entertaining factor than how he sounded singing. Don't get me wrong, in my opinion Taylor was tops in all aspects.

I was fortunate enough to attend the final 3 rehearsal in Hollywood and alot of people there in line were for Daughtry even though he was not in the final 3. Lots of fans also for Katharine and Elliott and of course our Taylor. During this rehearsal what respect I had for Katharine vanished as she was sort of rude to the fans by ignoring them and hanging all over Ryan Seacrest. On the other hand Taylor and Elliott let the fans know how much they appreciated their support.

Now we come to the big one of why Daughtry out-sold Taylor. Chris was promoted in a big way by the Clive Davis group by basically shoving him down our throats, videos and of course using his song on the Season 6 show. Our Taylor got very little promotion except for him basically promoting himself. Most people I talk to in my everyday life wanted a new rockstar to worship and like Chris's music but when I mention Taylor they are confused somewhat because they do not realize he even put out a cd. I have never heard Taylor on the radio here except for "Do I Make You Proud". I have asked my radio stations to play him but they have many excuses why they don't do it with the main one being they do not have his cd. I live in Carson City, Nevada and this is mostly a country music oriented place which I detest so Carrie Underwood is big news here and she is also played alot.

One casino I go to does play Taylor often as well as Elliott and Katharine but I rarely hear Chris there which is a relief as I do not care for his music either. Overall, I just think most people do not get Taylor, at least where I live as I notice he is more popular in the southern states.

Needless to say, I am totally addicted to this very gifted man and feel quite fortunate to have experienced a talent that is so unique.

The music that is played here on our local stations is Country as well but we do have station that plays a little bit of everything and they do play Taylor, I've heard, DO I MAKE YOU PROUD, HEAVEN KNOWS, JUST TO FEEL THAT WAY, But they do play Chris, Elliott as well which is fine with me SO I'm one of the lucky ones that do hear him Taylor I mean. I'm from South Dakota so I guess our town does like him.

I to have it bad for Taylor, I mean I've never ever followed an artist like I do him and it's amazing to see and to remember what he was like on AI and to see him now, he's still the same sweet, kind, giving guy and he still has those beautiful eyes...

I do feel in the years to come that Taylor will still be around when Daughtry is just another fluke in the moment. Anyway, just adore our guy and will always be a huge fan! :bounce:
