lips Hey there and welcome to a useless hour of auditions we saw in Los Angeles. Our night does start out positive as Ryan Seacrest says we have scoured across the nation and have found some spectacular talent. We then see Brett Loewenstern from the New Orleans auditions, Lauren Alaina who appeared in Nashville and Casey Abrams who tried out in Austin. More clips are shown of others who got their golden tickets along our journey of auditions.

The show is hoping to continue this streak as they hit Los Angeles. Then of course our Ryan says his famous line "This is American Idol". Now we hear that this is the one place to be to hit the big time as we see the famous Hollywood sign among other scenes of Los Angeles. Seems thousands showed up plus some who had applied on-line via MySpace which came to 16,000 in total however only a select few were chosen to join the already massive crowd.

Our judges have arrived with Randy Jackson wearing some shiny gold or are they yellow shoes. Jennifer Lopez talks about her short skirt and also indicates how Randy's shoes are shining in her eyes. Steven Tyler exits his limo smoking a big cigar and is not sure this is going to be allowed, however he is not giving it up. Now the judges are happy to be back home as they enter the L.A. audition room as they prepare for day one of contestants.

Los Angeles Auditions - 2/3/11 555837 From here on, this hour was totally wasted as we see some truly nutty people, bad singers and antics involving our judges. Do I dare continue with this re-cap. Okay you talked me into it.

Our first young lady by the name of Victoria Garratt tells us she is ready to knock the judges off their feet considering how talented she is. Oh my this girl is truly off the mark as she sings something I am not sure of. Her voice sounded like nails sliding down a chalkboard as Jennifer demonstrates later in this audition. Steven yells as he points to her "your going to Siberia". He also adds her voice was sweet and angelic like a little lambie which has Jennifer stunned. Randy says she sounded like an animal getting a shot. Obviously Steven was trying to let her down gently but it is a definite no from our judges.

Los Angeles Auditions - 2/3/11 322546 A small ray of sunshine happens as Tim Halperin enters who can not wait to meet Jennifer Lopez who he has a big crush on. He seems to perform the song "She Will Be Loved" by Maroon 5 solely for Jennifer. Randy mentions the connection which prompts Tim to tell them about his crush while growing up. Jennifer of course is flattered and asks him how old he is. He responds with 23 and then asks Jennifer how old she is which she says is none of his business. Steven thinks he needs to work on his voice but gives a yes vote. Randy does not feel he is ready yet and says no. Jennifer thinks he has a nice tone and that is important as she gives a yes vote and Tim is off to Hollywood.

Los Angeles Auditions - 2/3/11 57823 Back to looney toons as we see it is now 11:00 a.m. which has a mixed bag of good and bad. Justin Carter is shown briefly and sounds just okay to the judges. Surprisely Jennifer says a few naughty words while giving her take on his voice. Randy is surprised also by Jennifer. I have a feeling young Justin did not get his ticket.

Next we see Ryan saying their must be a problem in the judges room as some workmen enter the room. Then we see a couple of people delivering food to the judges which has Ryan in disbelief.

After this we hear the story of Daniel and Issac who are friends. Daniel thinks Isaac is the better singer. Issac did go to college but has dropped out and his parents do not know this yet. Daniel Gomez is first to sing in a totally bland voice. Steven says he is far from the melody line. Randy says he is tone deaf and this is not for him. Jennifer is a no also. Issac Rodriguez is next and tries to perform a jazzy version of the song "Build Me Up Buttercup". It is a no go from the judges once again but Jennifer does say he has a nice smile. Randy after some harsh comments does add both of these boys seem like nice guys but this is not for either of them. More minutes are wasted as we see the glow of these two "miracle" boys who sing their way out of our lives with the song "Believe".

Day two has arrived with the judges hoping to find that one true idol. The MySpace auditioners have traveled to Los Angeles with us seeing Karen Rodriguez who is from New York. She performs the song "You Give Good Love" and pleases the judges enough to get her ticket. She also lets Jennifer know she met her on TRL at one point. Jennifer is gracious and says awesome. Karen hopes to become the first Latin American Idol as her time comes to an end.

Back on the downer track as we meet Tynisha Roches who hails from Hoboken, New Jersey. We hear alot of nonsense from this 25 year old who claims she is the next American Idol, in fact she says it three times in a row. She has her own microphone with her. Randy wants to know if her mic is on when she enters the audition room. She tells him it is off because her voice is big enough without the mic. Okay, so why did you bring it my dear. Moving on she plans to do a tribute to Frank Sinatra and totally slaughters the song "My Way". Randy can not contain his laughter. You can tell this is going to be a no but Tynisha wants to do another song and starts singing again. Randy has had enough and starts to leave the room which has Tynisha chasing after him as she sings away to the song "And I'm Telling You, Your Going to Love Me". Steven tries to re-store order several times but it does not happen as more nonsense happens as Randy tries to take the mic away from Tynisha. Finally this crazy time comes to an end with security escorting Tynisha out of the room. Tynisha calls Randy the mean Pillbury Doughboy and says Randy made her nervous. She still claims she is going to be a star.

Now it is 3:00 p.m. in L.A. and there have been a total lack of gold tickets given out with more clips of crowd nonsense before we meet Heidi Khzam who is a belly dancer. She demonstrates her art which is quite entertaining to the guys on the panel. Steven now wants to hear her sing and she does the song "Super Woman". Not sure if that was the title of this song but this girl does have a pleasant voice. Randy speaks for all by saying "welcome to Hollywood" with Jennifer adding "simmer it down" to the guys.

Next up is a heavy-set man wearing a suit. We hear lots of nonsense from this guy also about being a freelance music producer. He carries a compliation cd with him that has a song by Chaka Khan on it. Craziness abounds as Matt "Big Stats" Frankel provides a formal introduction for the panel. He tells Randy what his profession is and slips with saying he produces millions then says a bunch of artists. Steven wants to know if that is his strong suit as obviously he is wearing it. After they hear about the cd Matt is actually going to sing. He tells JLo this is for her and gives a terrible rendition to a song I do not recognize. It is a no from all and outside the audition room we hear more nonsense from Matt who thinks Randy is not happy because he is not related to Michael Jackson or Samuel L. Jackson. Regardless Matt obviously does not care for Randy and he says he and Randy are beefin. Okay, whatever.

So far we know we have had two long days of bad talent which gets further demonstrated as we see William Roberts perform. Steven says he hears his voice but does not think he is ready for idol 2011, twelve and thirteen. More bad from contestants Jeannette Manning, Daniel Hall, Anthony Granger who drops his pants to sing and Arista Pemberton who not only sings badly but dances and ends with a split that looked like it hurt.

Los Angeles Auditions - 2/3/11 451785 It's been hours since any golden tickets have been given out and the holding room is almost empty as we finally see some talented brothers in the form of Mark and Aaron Gutierrez. Mark is 28 and a math teacher. Aaron is 27 and according to his brother lives by his own rules. They perform a duet to the song "Lean On Me". Both not only sound good together but also solo as they perform. Finally a decent audition because frankly I like these guys alot. Jennifer loved it, Randy did also with a big yes. Steven calls them god-like and gives his yes vote. These happy-go-lucky brothers are off to Hollywood.

Los Angeles Auditions - 2/3/11 76735 After the break we see a few more bad contestants before our final guy of the day. He is 59 year old Cooper Robinson who is from Arkansas. Several minutes are wasted while Cooper tells how to get to his home in the woods. He then imitates James Brown with the song "I Feel Good" which is done quite badly as is his dancing moves. He says he is going to be a movie star and take over this city. Finally he calms down enough to see the judges are speechless. Of course he is getting a no vote. Jennifer is afraid to walk out of the audition room because of Cooper. She does finally with a security guard. Cooper continues his rant about being a star as this part of the auditions come to an end in Los Angeles. Thank Goodness!

Los Angeles Auditions - 2/3/11 833804 Sorry American Idol but I honestly feel I just wasted an hour watching so many awful performers. Luckily our next stop is San Francisco which looks like it might have some good talent on the short clips we see. After San Francisco we are finally getting to Hollywood on the Thursday night show which brings tears from some it looks like. Will your favorites make the grade, we shall see.

Until next time have a great week all!

This had to be the most wasted hour in Idol history, in my opinion. I didn't think I would find anyone I liked during these auditions. Luckily along comes the two brothers, Mark and Aaron Gutierrez. I liked both of them. Again another couple I'd like to see in the top 10.

I totally agree Deni as do most of the posts that are on the American Idol website. Hopefully we see more good than bad in San Francisco. I am really glad we are finally getting to Hollywood as the audition process is starting to get old for me.

I know what you mean. If it weren't for the auditions the season would be cut a whole lot shorter and I know that would make alot of people unhappy. So I gues we just grin and bear it.
